Route planner and optimization app for GLS couriers and transport partners
GLS delivers through transport partners and their drivers, and GLS Germany itself says the best route planning is done by the drivers. MyWay makes that part quick. Add your stops in less than a minute with multi-line import, an Excel or CSV file or a photo, optimize them for the fastest route and drive it with Google Maps, Waze, Apple Maps or any nav app you like. Keep scanning parcels on your GLS device as usual — MyWay takes care of the stop order and the drive between stops. Save up to an hour a day, lower your fuel costs and finish your route earlier. Don’t go the extra mile — go MyWay.

Frequently Asked Questions
The top 8 answers every GLS driver needs to know
Who owns GLS?
GLS (General Logistics Systems) belongs to International Distribution Services, the former Royal Mail plc, which has been owned by Daniel Křetínský’s EP Group since 2025 (CEP Research).
GLS works in more than 50 countries through its own companies and partners. In the year to March 2026 it delivered 977 million parcels from about 1,700 depots and agencies, with more than 36,000 delivery vehicles (GLS).
How do GLS drivers work in Europe?
GLS Germany delivers only through self-employed transport companies and doesn’t employ drivers itself: its transport partners employ them and agree their own rates with GLS (GLS). Other countries work in a similar way — in Austria a partner covers a connected postcode area, and in Denmark distribution partners’ drivers usually drive the same route every day.
In Germany drivers must earn at least the minimum wage: €13.90 an hour from January 2026 and €14.60 from January 2027.
Does GLS deliver in the US and Canada?
Yes. GLS US, formerly Golden State Overnight, delivers in California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Colorado, Utah and Texas. It works with local entrepreneurs, transportation companies and independent carriers who own and maintain their own vehicles (GLS US). GLS Canada has more than 65 locations.
If you run your own vehicle, you pay for its fuel, so a shorter route is money in your pocket, not just time saved.
Who plans a GLS driver’s route?
In Germany GLS leaves it to the drivers: it says the best route planning is done by the delivery drivers themselves (GLS). GLS has also built its own routing, now run as Bettermile, and in Canada the GLS driver app puts the stops in order (Bettermile). Either way, it’s the driver who knows the area, the gate codes and the customers who are never in — and MyWay lets you plan the order your way in seconds.
Does GLS give customers a delivery time window?
In many countries, yes. With the FlexDeliveryService, customers are told on the day when to expect their parcel — in Slovenia, for example, a three-hour window and the driver’s phone number in the morning (GLS), and in Poland live tracking that starts 20 stops before their address. If you need to keep a window, give the stop its time window in MyWay, and MyWay works out an order that reaches every customer inside theirs.
Can Google Maps plan a GLS route?
Only a short one. Google Maps takes up to 9 stops including the destination, Apple Maps up to 14, and Waze only one stop per destination — and none of them reorder the stops for you: you drag them into order yourself (Apple Support). A full day of parcels means splitting the route into batches and planning each one by hand. MyWay optimizes the whole route at once and opens each stop in Google Maps, Waze or the nav app you prefer.
Can I plan my GLS route for free?
Yes, for short routes. MyWay’s free Starter plan optimizes routes of up to 15 stops. A full GLS route is longer, so for a whole day the Pro plan optimizes up to 200 stops per route — try it free for 7 days first.
Can GLS drivers use MyWay?
Yes. MyWay runs on your own iPhone or Android phone, next to your GLS scanner or app. Keep scanning and confirming deliveries the way GLS asks you to, and let MyWay put the day’s addresses in the fastest order and guide you from stop to stop with the map app you prefer. Whether you drive for a GLS transport partner in Europe or run your own vehicle for GLS US, you can try MyWay absolutely free of charge.
